Default Exhaust Temp Sensor

Does anyone know if the oxygen sensors located infront of the cats measure exhaust temp also?

I would like to install an autometer exhaust temp gauge and hoping/praying that I can tap into a factory sending unit instead of having to mount an additional seperate sender.

EGT - Exhaust Gas Temp is not measured by an O2....so you will in fact have to tap another sensor into your vehicle. An EGT probe, however must be placed within 1"-3" from the head for accurate readings. I have mine plumbed in to the air injection tube (which of course was deleted with the addition of the headers)with a block off plate.

Why skimp. You should just run the same set up the Fuel and Alcohol guys run. Eight cylinders = eight exhast temp sensors, one on each header pipe. That way you really know what your engine is doing. Not just Bank 1 or Bank 2.
