Default Exhaust problem!

Hey guys, just thought I'd see if anybody else has run into the problem I had over the weekend. I finished putting the cam in and went thru the suggested heat cycles, so it was all broke in. I got on it a few times on the way to my cottage and it got really loud. I looked under the truck, and the exhaust blew off from my pacesetters. I had the pipes slip over with a clamp on each side. I can't have too much backpressure, straight pipes out of the passenger side. How do you guys keep your exhaust on? I was planning on running a couple 40 series flowmasters and with the extra added backpressure, I would think it would be more prone to blow the pipes off again. Let me know what ya think. Thanks. Tim

yeah, I used an impact gun to tighten them, which I assume would be enough, but maybe not.

you could have over torqued them and stretched the bolt...

Tighten them without the impact, Like they said, im sure it was probably over tightened.

Agreed. I stripped one out with a ratchet. Didn't know my own strength i guess.
Prefer using Band Clamps instead of C clamps. I used them to patch up my exhaust after the dealership had to cut the crosspipe off to change my tranny. Leaks a lil because of the gap there is from cutting the pipe off but it holds no problem.
