Default Exhaust cut-outs on our trucks?

I cant spend a bunch of money on mods for the truck because the other cars in my sig bleed me dry but I would like a lil extra power. What does a cut-out sound lik eon our trucks? Is there much of a power gain for a cutout or even a full cat-back system? I had heard that a cat-back doesnt make much of a difference but as quiet as these things are I just cant see how that is the case.

Also, was the FIPK worth the money?

Cat-backs make a huge difference in sound on our trucks. Whoever told they wouldn't is dead wrong.

Here's what 99RedHawk's truck sounds like with cutouts:

And here's Daren's old truck page that shows which mods did what:

Sweet, Thank you guys for the help.

You guys have listed pretty much all the mods I was thinking about since it seems the 5.3L responds to mods similar to the 5.7L in my T/A.

Now, can you guys how to I should break it to the Fiance that I plan on moding the only stock vehicle left in the house? And her daily driver???

My only problem is mine grew up around IHBA boat racers and could install any of the mods we talked about herself if she could take the time away from riding her dirt bike or snowboarding.

She is about the only girl I know that can smell an alcohol injected race car before me.

Man, it's hard being sneaky around someone like that. Hahaha

Yes there is a power diff and coupled w/a K&N, you could be looking at 15+ rwhp. If you are only going to lightly mod your truck, those are the first I would do. Then a HPPIII. I would not do cutouts until you are well on your way with mods. In my case they are for the track. There are a couple of guys here recently that have them on stock identical trucks. One is a 01, other 02 and only beat each other when one or the other is uncapped but, just by a fender.

I just put on an FIPK a week ago (BigTex's), and it was definitely worth it. I also noticed more power when I put a Flowmaster on. The best thing about the HPP3 is the shift point adjustments.
