Default Exhaust for 500+ HP

Well I have spent hours researching these forums and still have not found a good answer. Heres my question, I will be doing several upgrades, to my truck here shortly and should be producing 500+ HP and just wanted to know what the best exhasut option would be. Its an 09 Silverado with a 5.3. Im going with ARH Longtubes, so thats covered, my question is should I run an ORY to a catback system or true duals. Sound is important, but my main goal is performance. I realize that on a stock motor with true duals you will lose some low end TQ. I will be adding a cam and Magnacharger, so just wanted to know what would give me the best performance for my setup. I would like to see some Dyno numbers too if available, can anyone help me out here?

IMO, x-pipe is best. Next choice is Y-pipe, followed by H-pipe, and true duals as a last choice. I'm running a Y-pipe on my setup.

X-pipe into what, Duals? I don't see any otherway, plus that was my plan if I go true duels to run an x-pipe. Sorry I didn't mention that earlier.

Y pipe is actually the worse out of the combo, the x pipe is better for the late LS motors as they produce more power then torque. a H pipe is benefical in more torque setups. the H helps create balance in lower rpms where the X has better scalvanging in the higher rpms. Y just merges two exhaust gasses. its a way factory uses exhaust. performance exhausts dont use Y however some do use this method but when doing so they increase the merge size greatly

for 500 crank or 500 rwhp? theres a huge difference there, if going to the wheels i would use dual 3" with an x for that power goal with open mufflers.

Duals or single doesn't matter, just make sure you have the right diameter pipes. If you want to get technical, duals would technically be worse because it adds alot more surface area to the flow of the exhaust and therefore more energy has to be expended to overcome the additional drag. But that's just being picky.

It will be 500+ to the wheels, if all goes to plan. Still looks like a toss up between ORY and true duals with an X pipe. Im gonna wait and see what others have to say. The Headers im looking at have and ORY that you can get with them, but I can do a custom true dual set up for less $. Just want to know what will be most beneficial performance wise.

ARH headers is what I plan on using, anyone have any dyno numbers or anymore info, still don't have the info I need to make a decision.
