im thinking of getting 3" summit pipe with a hooker maxflow muffler with dual outlets. with a pairr of glasspacks

 

I just installed some Pacesetters and an off road y on a friends stock 05 4.8 and it still has the stock cat-back. He is giddy. He's ready to start modding full blown. His low end torque while cruising improved as well as top end substantially. I can only imagine with a muffler how much better.

or the new flowmaster.

Are you just wanting it loud? Keeping stock manifolds and cats? I just put a single SLP Loudmouth Resonator on my 07, 4.8 and it sounds badass, much louder than the Hooker Aerochamber that was on there before hand, but it would be too much with headers and ORY.

I don't really understand what your asking? The magnaflow is going to be pretty quiet. If you want a deep rumble, go with Corsa or something. But to make it sound bigger than a 4.8????

In retrospect, my 4.8 with stock cats and manifolds with the SLP sounds just like every other LS1 trans am/camaro I've ever heard. And please do not go with slowmaster.
