installed a 130 amp alternator on my truck today. it is the alternator that comes on the escalade truck with the 6.0. i also had to get the belt for that same application.

Did you do this because you have under drive pulleys? I did not see them in you sig, but just thought I would ask. Also why did you need a different belt, did it have a bigger-smaller pulley on it?

 

What do we have stock, 105 amp alternators?

 

we have 105 amp alternators stock. i went to a 130 amp alt since i have a custom high end stereo,85 watt headlight bulbs and 35 amp driving lights and i am planning on ls1 fans. the extra amps are going to be very useful in the very near future. oh you have to use the different belt since the 130 alt is bigger and the belt is a little longer.
