Default enginehood/clearance????

hey so im planning some modifications to an HD hood for my 02 silverado....dose any one know how much space is there between the engine top cover and the underside of the hood???

Not exactly sure why you would need to know that? But I bolted one up no problem.. Just have to blend in the fenders.

well im tryn to fab up a custom hood with a heat extractor...some wat like the 03 cobras.....

i think ima have to use some kind of foam that wen pressd down on will retain that form...place it under the hood and close it down see wat comes out....now to look for that illusive foam................

there is some stuff we used to use at the audio shop i worked at that was forming foam that once it hardens the stuff is hard as a rock...just cut & mold by sanding...worked pretty well on wood & fiberglass boxes
