engine swap price. How did I do?

Default engine swap price. How did I do?

As some of you may remember I put a LQ4/4l80e and T case in my 1990 kit truck were the body looks like a hummer. I would have liked to have done tyhe labor myself but I did not have the time ( Why do I ahve a job? Oh yes to pay for all this ) and this is my daily driver

Now that I have everything in and am seeing final bills I paid around $3500 in labor for a guy who had never done one of these engines before but had done may swaps before and had access to a guy who had swapped LS engines before.

I tooks like with a new harness and programming, adapters, engine, tranny, tcase, exhaust, air intake, accessories, drivelines, hoses, fuel lines pumps and filters, cooler lines, and a few other things that my final price for this swap is somewhere in $10,700.00 engine/tranny tcase are stock.

Did I handle this poorly or get ripped off or is this a common conversion price for this typd of job??

$11 grand for a lq4 swap?!?!?! Even into a 1990 truck that is rape. I don't have personal experience on the issue, but EVERYBODY seems to say that parts alone is around $3500-4500. Hell, even if you spent $7500 on parts(which would involve a brand new crate engine and trans), the $3500 in labor is rape too.

A very large wrecking yard/mechanic shop has done plenty of those and quoted me 3750 bucks (canadian) for a 5.3L to 6.0L swap with EVERYTHING and labor included in price.

Man I can do a v6 to 6.0 swap for less than that!! lol hell you got it done thats all that counts.

Don't forget this is a 1990 truck and not a NBS truck. Obviously it's still nowhere near worth the price of 11 grand, but it's not just a simple 5.3L to 6.0 swap

I don't know thats all lot of **** to do. It may seem a little high $ but there is a lot of labor there to make it all work.

As long as it runs right and is in your driveway, that's all that matters at this point. What was the turn around time?
