There's nothing wrong with his question and if you can't answer it I suggest you post elsewhere.
Maybe his 6L is
and he has a free 5.3 to work with?
Yes, it can be done but like previously mentioned it would be a bit downgrade for your truck. Plenty of good used 6L shortblocks around. I believe you will need the PCM from that 5.3 or one tuned for a 5.3 as well.

The 4l80e wont work w/o a crank spacer. I'm not sure about the computer, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. For the few $100s he's saving in engine costs, he is building a slug that will overtake those savings on the engine with fuel costs.
Come man, really? Helping this guy run a 5.3 in a 2500 is actually hurting him. An iron head 6.0 will fit right up, and they prob cost as much as a 5.3.

eh. that's like me taking a 3500 CCLB 4wd on 24" wheels and putting a 4.3 in it bc its free. its stupid, but whatever he wants to do. it's a simple swap. all he has to do is have the ecm tuned with a 5.3 and leave the 80e segments in the ecm.
