engine break in?

I got my new cat put on and it didn't fix anything. The old cat was burned the guy said. It was purple on the first half of the cat. It pings too bad to drive it so I guess it will sit until the mechanic can get to it again. Guess I won't worry about breaking it in. It will probably have to sit a week or two.

Timing was rechecked before the converter was put on and it is set on 0 right where it is suppose to be.
