Default Electric Fans

Hey guys where can I get electric fans for the 00 'rado? Want to wire it up to the PCM but don't know EXCATLY how. If someone could help me find some and help me hook them to the PCM I would be very appreciative. P.S. I do have LS1-Edit.

Will when you get a set pm or email me and I'll tell you how to wire and connect them to the pcm. Mine are wired up and are being controlled by a switch right now. I'm trying to find a tuner that will set the settings with ls1edit or something similar for less than $100.

You have to ADD the wire and the relay since the trucks don't use the electric fans. It's also NOT activated in the software so you need LS1 Edit to turn the feature on.

Then it works great! We've done 3 or 4 setups here.

Hey John

How do you add a wire to the computer? Do you need a special pin or something?

The only gripe I have with the VSC is that you can't set the turn off temp. This makes it kinda flutter on and off as it reaches the turn on temp after cooling the coolant down. Other than that one thing it works great.

Do all the features work with the stock computer?(high/low/AC)

Yes, you need a piece of wore with the correct PCM terminal on the end. Then you remove the PCM connector, pop off the blue retainer, and stick it into the empty cavity at position 42.
If you have access to a junkyard, several PCM's use this same terminal and you could just cut one out. The same terminal is used on all of the LT1 computers from 94-97, all of the Vortec trucks from 95 on, as well as several other late model cars. If you can't come up with one, I can provide a length of wire with the correct terminal for a couple of bucks.

The primary fan setting is the only one that works. This is because the seconday fan position on the PCM is already in use on the trucks for some HVAC damper door control or something??

With dual fans I just set it up so that BOTH fans come on at the trip temperature. I actually like it that way to get the engine cooled quickly!

I have not looked at the A/C part of it. That would require another wire to the PCM, OR another relay between the A/C compressor and the primary fan relay.

I have a 5.3 engine package up and running in the shop, I'll see if the fan activates when the A/C is turned on.

Actually you need a piece of wire, not a piece of wore.
