Default EGR question on 02 pcm

I am considering swapping my hypertech 99 pcm to an 02 pcm. I have heard that the 02 models don't have EGR. Since mine is a 99 model truck and has EGR, what will this do to my truck? CAn I just block off the EGR after I get the 02 pcm?

Wont do a thing. Mine is all still hooked up and I dont have any EGR codes. Eventually when I get my headers Im gonna block all that crap off.
