the function of the egr is to reuse exhaust fumes, reburning the fumes reduses emissions..... i took that away... and i took shitty exhaust running through my engine....

it recirculates exhuast back into the intake and thus reduces some emissions.

edit* didnt read lespaul's post...it pretty much sums it up

Did you know it reduces combustion tempatures while decreasing oxides of nitrogen emissions. This could allow you to tune more timing !

not to mention, i you can tune in 28* of timing, it gets to the point where a couple more degrees isnt going to do any good

CHECK FOR LEAKS!!!! When you have plugged the intake, go ahead and fire up the motor and spray some starting fluid around the plug. If its leaking, the motor will try to die.

I asked silverbrick if he ever checked his for a leak. He was having issues with the truck but after we found that his plug was leaking, some of those issues went away from what i understand. DEFINATELY CHECK FOR LEAKS!!!

hey guys, i was wondering if a tune is the only possible way to avoid the CEL?

I heard of a fellow blocking the hose a little bit more every week until after 2 months or so he finally completely blocked it and never had a CEL.
Anyone ever heard of this?
