You can also do the following:

1. Turn key on but don't start car.
2. Pull PCM(ECM) BAT and PCM(ECM) IGN fuses in engine compartment.
3. Wait a few minutes.(I just wait around 10 seconds)
4. Turn ignition off.
5. Replace fuses.
6. Start truck (May need to give it a little throttle)

All is good!

Damn that would be super easy to do that way. Ah well I reset it and the light is gone now.

I drove for a good 30 miles and its still off and should stay that way. That is with the 3/16" hole which is only 1/16" larger than the 1/8" hole.

The truck damn near died on initial startup too! I thought something was broken but it was all okay in the end. lol

On the 99-01 trucks (I believe '02+ don't have EGR) the EGR valve is on the passanger side of the motor.

Well I took off that valve. Traced the gasket onto a sheet of paper, the put my paper tracing on a thin piece of aluminum...I used a 24oz MGD can that was readily available.

Basically just sandwich the aluminum part between two new gaskets. I picked up some Mr Gasket Co. shet gasket for ~$7 and made them from my paper template. You COULD buy new gaskets from the local price gouger..er..dealer but I can spend money more efficiently.

I just made one block off plate out of flat stock. I didn't drill a hole in it because I didn't think it would be politicaly correct to call it a "BLOCK OFF PLATE" if it had a hole drilled in it. I then stuffed a 1ft long X 1in square section of foam K&N filter material up into the tube leading to the EGR valve. No DTCs get set and no exhaust gases ever get recirculated to my throttle body or my intake manifold. The EGR still "functions normally except that rather than recirculating exhaust gases it breathes filter air when the PCM commands the EGR to open. I only bolted on the block of plate not the flange going to the EGR. That steel tubing is so stiff that I just positioned it next the the EGR header bung. It's so close that it looks like it's connected when in fact there is about 1/8in of spacing which allow the EGR to breathe. If I could shrink myself I would create a new job position called Intake Manifold Sweep. I would be just like a Chimney Sweep, but on a much smaller scale. I could make a fortune!
