Default EGR Mod q's....

Okay I hacked that tube running into the intake and now have a quick question about the block off plate...

How large of a hole should I begin with inorder not to set an SES light?

Thanks!

Where do you get that sheet gasket stuff? Did you just cut a 1/8 hole in the gasket itself or did you use a metal plate and 2 pieces of gasket?

I used a metal plate between that gasket stuff. I picked it up at O'Reilly and any auto parts store should carry that gasket stuff.

The 1/8" hole was too small and threw an SES light last night. I drilled the hole to 3/16" and heopefully it will be okay.

Does anyone know if the light will reset itself I do I need to go clear it with AutoTap?

If the second hole is big enough and the pcm deems everything OK it will eventually clear itself after so many cycles. But since you have atap I would go ahead and clear it.
btw.. a buddy had to go to a 5/32 in his.

Do you know what the DTC code was? I would reset the code instead of waiting for it to clear.

I just went ahead and disconnected the batt as I can't get my damn USB->Serial adapter to work with this damn laptop from work! I guess it is too new.

I need to get an old cheapass laptop for DTC and EDIT.

Any ideas on how long it takes to reset after the batt is disconnected?

Couple minutes. I thought you had to pull a fuse or two also.
