Default egr or air?

I was just wondering what i have. I was thinking about getting the FLP headers for my '99 truck but FLP says they don't have a hookup for the A.I.R. but they do for the EGR i think. I know there is a pipe coming out of my passenger side exhaust but I don't know what it is. can any of yall help me? any ideas? thanks

if your in friendswood you only have the E.G.R.
the A.I.R. is only for Cali. emissions.

Well i know for sure you have egr but like they said if it was a cali truck it would have air. If you ask the chevy dealer to check your vin and his computer system will tell you if you have air or not.

FWIW, I noticed this weekend that my passenger side header ...err, manifold, doesn't have that fitting coming off of it. There is a hole in the heat shield for it. As far as I know, that was the AIR setup.

MA emissions have been very similar to CA, up until late '03. My '02 GM definitely had the setup.

From what I heard about the AIR setup, is that it really doesn't do much of anything for emissions. I read about people deleting it, and turning off the codes in Edit. But you didn't hear that from me.

So I'm a bit lost then. So what I gather then is that my '01 5.3L is EGR. But then again I live in Kalifornia, so that would mean I should have the AIR setup. But my car was also purchased in AZ from what Carfax tells me.

Does anyone have any pictures of AIR and EGR on their car/truck to show the difference between the two? Or any way of telling the two apart
