I recently purchased Auto-tap ( thanks, blownchevy), but I had already downloaded Efi Live (which won't do anything unless you have the Auto tap cable). My question is, which is the better program? I haven't tried to hook anything up, yet, I've been out of town working. Thanks

 

Ones not better than the other, they have different purposes. EFI Live is for programming, AutoTap is for collecting data (read only)

 

EFILive, does about the same thing as ATAP, except, EFILive is designed for ONLY the LS1 family of engines where ATAP is for any OBD2 engine with the appropriate computer stuff. EFILive does work hundreds of times better than ATAP on the LS1 engine family though, it updates MUCH faster and has a better interface.

EFILive currently does not have programming capabilities, but they are going to provide such in the future the way rumor has it, which if they do I'm absolutely positive will be outstanding, and far above LS1Edit.

James, I think you are thinking of LS1Edit. EDIT, does not have any diagnostic abilities in the production stuff, but they are beta testing it.

Bottom line, is it worth it to upgrade, I think so,

 

How often does EFI and Atap take readings? Every 1,3,5 seconds? I'm trying to compare.

 

It's less than a second, but it depends on how many different things your logging. AutoTap is quick, but EFILive is screaming fast.
