Default edelbrock shortys

i posted before that i inherited a set of edelbrock ceramic coated shortys... well it was said that they leaked... i cannot find any evidence or marks from leaking... but i see that someone tried to weld them in the collector area where the 4 tubes meet inside.. i was wondering if it would be okay to just strap them on or would it be bad?? i dunno where to start to see if i can repair them.

well at best they'll give you 7 rwhp. Worst, you'll have an exhaust leak and lose power over stock.

The stock manifolds aren't really that bad. I don't think you would feel a difference with the shorties even if they don't leak.
