Default edelbrock pro flo xt for my 5.3

hey guys what do you guys think of using a edelbrock pro flo xt manifold on my 5.3l engine, its a ls swap im doing for my c10 so it wont be a daily, it has a 224 230 cam and will have longtubes and a 4l80e and bolt ons, i was almost certain on doing the holley intake manifold but will it be overkill?
thats why im torn between the edelbrock or the holley, i see most people with the holley are tubo. i want the engine bay to look clean and still make some power which is why i preffer going with an aftermarket intake. i placed my order for the holley already, but should i cancel it and go with the edelbrock instead for my setup?

That Holley is going to have no torque on that 5.3 the edelbrock will be a little better. The best option would be a lsxrt

I feel like they are both the wrong intake for an NA 5.3L. Both have heat soak issues. Something like a fast intake is a good option. I really think a shaved and smoothed TBSS factory intake would be a much better option. Especially if you add some milled and worked 243s. Factory plastic manifolds will be your very best bet and the 5.3 won't be lacking.

yeaa a factory intake isnt in my best interest at the moment and the fast intake is a bit over budget, i guess my question will be will the truck still run good with the holley intake since the order is shipped already, not looking for huge gains, mainly cosmetic for the intake but as long as it doesnt run like ****

You're more than likely going to lose power and certainly going to lose driveability with the holley. Your best bet would've been the nnbs intake as stated above, but even that intake almost requires the better flowing 243s from what I've seen in order to not lose anything down low. I would stick with what you have now and return the holley. Put that money towards better heads or an nnbs intake.

A factory intake actually is in your best interest: cheaper, better manners, better overall feel. Only con is that it looks stock (if you consider that a con, I personally dont).

Run the factory intake. Then get a factory cover customized for a better look. You're not going to like the Holley with a 4l80e unless you run a pretty short gear. Especially if you're going to run the stock stall converter.
