This is a thread for my friend that has a stock truck and wants to mod it. I told him to forget about the intake and do headers and exhaust, a locker and some 410s, a tr224 cam and a wheatly tune. for now..btw this truck is an auto. he wants to kno if this is alright for him to do and if he needs anything else. all motor is his goal. and he wants to know about how much hp with those mods.

Try Ron's machining service on Ebay.
Those 3.23s with a 5.3 have to be a DOG down low.
I have a 6.0 and 3.42s, but recently went to a 31.5" tire, so my effective gear ratio is now around 3.31. It absolutely sucks down low

yea down low sucks and even when it shifts its not completely where it needs to be.. i hope to see a nice improvement with the 410s. off the line at 3/4 throttle is a joke. people are only impressed from a 40 mph drop into 1st. but off the line is weak.

You got a good starting point, but I would personally get a bigger 3200+rpm stall & smaller 9.5" inch converter with a TR224 in an ex. cab. Try the yank ss3600 that is a nice converter.
