Default eagle stroked 5.3

i just got a 02' silverado 5.3 2wd and was thinking of doing an eagle 383 stroker kit on it and was wondering if anyone has done it or has heard anything about it. and can you fit a FAST LSX intake on a 5.3 block.

plan to get LS6 heads milled down to 72CC, 1.8 roller rockers (dont know if i will have to fly cut the pistons or not), LS1 hotcam, and a new intake(fast lsx 78mm if it is even possible to fit on the block) and throllte body. 2800 stall conv, nelson tune, and 3.73 gears and maybe an sts turbo down the line.

i have to keep this engine california smog legal and everyone knows how strict they are. so i cant do an engine swap.

Where are you located??

I would recomend talking with one of the local shops near you for a better idea on what you should do. In Norcal you have Synergy Motorsports and in the mid latitude you have Speed Engineering. Not sure who is down south.

as far as i know the LSX intake will fit on all of the gen III small blocks. i also believe the 383 kit will work. as far as i know you can bore the 5.3 out to the 5.7L bore. i would stay with stock rockers though and pick a better suited cam.

as for heads, use your 5.3L heads with 5.7L intake valves and have them ported...

you can pm ktmrider, he just finished doing the 383 stroker from a 5.3. He bored out to 5.7 liter bore, this will help save money on custom pistons and with the #241 heads and bigger intake valves ( take advantage of the larger cylinder bore ). The #317 are great if you are going F/I or N2O else the combustion chamber size drops the compression ratio quite a bit. The stock #862 have the smallest CC size so make sure your pistons are made accordingly to keep the CR decent ;around 10-10.5:1
