Default e-fans, worth it or no?

ok guys, as always i got questions, and i search the forum but dont really find wat answer im looking for. OK i went to oreilly's today and checked on e fans, i can get 2 14" fans and the heat sensor to cut them on and off automatically for 140, the question is are they gona help that much? i know the stock fan weighs a few lbs and thats weigh ON the motor, so will it help much or should i just spend the money somewhere else??

oh and i got my vette servo in today now just gota find that thread that had the step by step of installing

the fans are worth every penny imo. it looks better and a couple of horsies but more for the fact its so much easier to get to the front plus a little better mpgs.

vette servo. very easy. there will be an exhaust shield with 2 i believe 10mm bolts pop it off, get the snap ring out of the cover on the side then tou will grab the little blue seal and get a little out of the crack and pull to stretch it and you will be able to slide everything out and put the vette servo in. be sure it goes back the right way as the other came out. and dont put back in the little spring that is just lyin in there. the one ecipped in... keep it. i beleive that should cover that

E-fans are definitely a great mod, and totally worth it. I would just make sure you shop around and get a good deal. A lot of people are using junkyard ls1 or Taurus fans. They can be had for very little dough and then you can pick up a controller separately.

With PCM control they are good. You only want them to run when needed and otherwise they are just along for the ride. I noticed my TPS dropped a couple percent pretty much over the whole scheme of things since I put the fans on. The engine spins up much faster as well.

What?? TPS stands for Throttle Position Sensor. What are you using it as in this context?

Sounds like you are pretty much sold on doing it. Just make sure you have looked at all of your options and choose what you think is best for you. Among other options, as listed above, some people use the Flex-a-lite fans and others also go the 2005 factory setup (which does require the large radiator).

they do free up some power and you might even see mpg improvement. You can check out my install on my cardomain site (see sig)

I used Fbody fans from a member and put them on along with a home made intake, and picked up about 4 mpg, doing the math, that means the mods would pay for them selves in about 3k miles. That right there is worth it, regardless of any free horsepower you get.
