it shouldn't matter. i have been using 2 of these to run my ls1 fans for the last 10 months and the only problem i have had was a relay decided to crap out on me.

If I'm looking at that picture correctly there is only one 40 amp fuse for both fan circuits. That tells me that two 30's would be plenty capacity. No?

Not sure why there is only one fuse shown in that schematic. the schematic I have and factory harness has two 40 amp fuses - one for each fan.
This is the '05+ factory setup.

Anyone happen to know the part number of the terminals that go into the PCM?

EDIT: Nevermind, found them.

Delphi 12084912 Terminal Female Micro-Pack 100W Gold Plated Terminal, Cable Range 1.00 - 0.75 mm2

Also if anyone didnt already know the cooling fan connectors are Metri-Pack 630's...

From what I've been running, a single 40 amp fuse has been fine. If you're going to run 2 30A fuses, you're going to run at least 8ga wire, because if something shorts out, and you're not using at least 8ga... you're most likely going to have a fire, I don't know if 10 ga. shorted would be able to draw the 60A to blow both fuses.

2 30 amp fuses would be fine because each fan runs on its own circuit, so if you short 1 fan it will only blow 1 of the fuses and the other will be unaffected. You would have to short both circuits independently to blow both fuses.

I'm thinking of using a 30 amp fuse on each circuit because 12 ga wire is only rated to 30 amp and if you have a single 40 amp fuse feeding both circuits and have a short in either of them it will have to blow the single 40 amp fuse which is more than most 12 ga wire can safely support.

The stock 05 schematic uses 2 30 amps fuses (as shown below) instead of the single 40. Will both ways work? Obviously yes, but since Im making mine from scratch I'm steering towards dual fuses. But to each his own.

I thought he was talking about bonding the 2 30A fuses... my bad.

Anyone know where I could get my pcm tuned for efan at a decent price? Im getting my truck re-tuned for E85 in about 6 weeks so I dont wanna pay like $50 for a efan only tune right now, Ill just run a switch till then. I sent wait4me a message but he never got back, I heard he used to do it for the cost of return shipping.
