E-FAN Control Question
#1
I recently picked up some E-Fans off an Impala, i plan to install them Thursday but i got a quick question. I work at Advance Auto and we sell a Hayden Dual-fan control harness that is adjustable, it has the push-in probe and all of the necessary wiring and relays. I have done extensive reading and from what I have gathered everyone is using their PCM to turn the fans on. I dont have a tune yet, nor do I have the money at the time for one. Will the harness from Advance be sufficient? Thanks for all your help guys, I know i will get a good response from you guys.

Well since you don't have a tune, which I believe is the only way to activate the pins in the PCM for efans unless you get someone local to you to do it, a thermal switch is the way to do it. I have no idea if that harness from your work is a good one or not, though..

The Spal controller is pretty nice. It works off of the engine's temperature sensor wire, and setpoints are adjustable. I've had no problems with mine for almost three years now.

I put the same Hayden thermostat controller on 'Nightmaretahoes' Trailblazer SS.. Works just fine on LS1 Efans.
while the truck was warming up i had my scan tool hooked up to see when it got up to temperature, then set the controller just a lil higher, around 210* so it wont be coming on every time he slowed down.
