G80 is the stock GM Eaton Locker. It is not a true locker and will only lock up at speeds under 20mph. I have the unit on my truck and am not real happy with it. I seem to be putting quite a few one wheel snakes on the road. I am planning to go with either the Eaton High Performance unit or the Auburn setup. <img border="0" alt="[guns]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" /> G80

If the right spins first, you get your one wheel wonder.

That's not the case...the locker has a centrifugal release which disengages the locker after 25 mph. So if you were able to spin the tire fast enough to reach 25 mph before the clutches could engauge you would have a simple open rear end.

I found this out in the burnout box with sticky tires. I had to leave it in 1st and modulate the burnout to get the tires to smoke or get even mildly warm. As soon as I hit 25 - 30 mph the left tire would stop dead.

G80 is great for radials and minor off-roading but has it limitations on the track.

You can get both to spin but thats because you have exceeded the holding ability (traction) on the tire and it offers little or no resistance. Put a sticky tire on and you will see the difference for sure.

Well, I regularly get both my ET streets spinning to good 50-55 mph in second gear when I burn out. The G80 works great for me at the track. What's up with that?
