Default Dyno results from LS1

LS1 with under drive pulley, CIA, LS1 Edit, 2400 converter, 3.73.baro pressure-29.07, humidity 90%. STDMax power=309.9 STDMax Torque=335.2. SAEMax power=303.6 SAEMax Torque=316
Uncorrected Power 297 Uncorrected Torque 309.
I have the Print out for the STD, but SAE and uncorrected is going by memory. Im sure with good air I would make over 300 uncorrected. I should also note that that was through stock exhaust.

That's some nice power and I bet the truck feels better with that 80lbs off the frontend. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

How's that extra torque feel just cruising around? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

At first I wasn't sure there was much of a difference, but after running another ex cab 5.3 I knew there was alot more there. Not sure what his mods were, but I put about 10 bus links on him by the top of second. It will be fun seeing how much power I can make with cam heads and exhaust. I am also going to beef up the trans next week. Yes the torque is very noticeable. Hopefully I will have some times with this setup to compare with future mods.

You know I had to chime in, hahaha <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

With all that power i still whooped you, lol

j/k, for those wanting the ls1 over the 5.3 and 4.8, it's a good upgrade, better than putting all that money into cam, pulley, headers, junk, etc.
btw, the stock 5.3 pcm/code will run the ls1 just fine, a little bit of tuning will need to be made on idle, but it's very acceptable and i was very suprised how well it ran.

later,

allen

Did the LS1 drop right in? I heard that some of the bolt holes don't line up. I will need this information for future use. Nice numbers. Thank you.

P.S. How close is the programing for the 4.8 and 5.3??

I need to know about tuning issues with the LS1 swap too. You can just use all of the 5.3L engine harness and computer PCM to control the LS1, correct? I have LS1edit, so new spark tables and stuff should be no problem. What did you guys do as far as fuel injectors...just keep the stock ones? I have a '99 and the injectors are smaller than '00 trucks. Do you think these would have to be replaced?
Thanks,
Ryan

I have a 99 ECSB Sierra that I have installed a LS1 in. It triggered a SES light and is rich on one of the banks.

I used the LS1 injectors but the truck intake and PCM.The only mods is a UPD lid, Shaner throttle boby and Magna flow exhaust

I have purchased LS1edit and EASE diagnostics. I have not had the time to start tuning.

I read the posts in the PCM section but they are mainly for F Bodies.

Where do I start with the tuning process.

Thanks,

ts99

If anybody wants I can send a copy of my file. With the exception of the IAC adjustment my program runs great, and never any SES problems from the first start up.

Just curious. Has anybody dropped the 8.1L in a 1500 series truck?
