we do sell cinnamon/sugar cider donuts. They are killer!!! we also have the best apple pie anywhere. I figure the stuff must be pritty good to give me enough money to fund the "4.8 from Hell" project.

i would think 500+rwhp at 15psi but spending a pile of money on that motor doesn't make a lot of sence to me. i am sure it will run great at the strip in a drag racing enviroment but wont be 1/10th as much fun to drive as a 408(aproxamately the same cost).

i have a little experience now with diferent cubes and my turbo set up. i am glad i got to run the 4.8 and 6.0 and now the 408. what i can tell you is once the boost is up there isn't all that much diference especialy if you crank up the boost on the 4.8. the time it takes for the boost to build and the tq you have while waiting for it to build is huge for the fun factor. the 4.8 was a slug just driving around and you with an sts and a big cam and lower compresion will likly be worse than what i had.

now with the 408 the boost comes on instantly and just sets you back EVERYTIME you even look at the gas pedal. no waiting at all.

dont mean to bash on your plan. i think it will run like a raped ape at the track and put down some nice numbers, just wont be as much fun as it could be. if you ever want to fly to omaha i would let you drive my truck around for awhile just to help with your decision.

Parish~ I dont know how much you spent on your 408, but i didnt spend big money for my built lower end. i already had the heads and a cam isnt much $$$. I dont know what size cam i am going with yet either. As for letting me drive you truck:
Plane ticket from Boston to Omaha: $500.00
Taxi to and from airport: about $120.00
Hotel: $300.00
Driving the fastest NBS Chevy in the world: PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for the imput man.

At 10# it made like 650 rwhp and like 680rwtq. They have yet to run it at 14#. I think that a new engine is going in sometime next year. It is sick..

well. i was thinking forged everything but even forgeting about the crank and just building a 370 you would have to be comparable cost. we are just talking rods and pistons right. i have a rebuildable 6.0 shortblock i would let go prety cheap. like $300 or so plus shiping.

i live in omaha. i dont even know if we have taxi's here and if we did nothing could be more than $20 away. not sure if they even offer a $300 hotel room in this town
