Dynatech LT's w/cats looking to add a A/F gauge
#11
Do you have the old style with the hump or the new style? I'm pretty sure mine has an extra bung in the front of the cat but I could be wrong. But if I do have a bung there could I install the WB A/F there? I'll have to check again this weekend when I'm back in town to look at my truck. Hopefully somone else could jump in here and tell me I'm not too crazy.

Also if I could ask you a question, where is all your O2's at in your exhaust? I was looking at some pics after doing a search and I'm starting to think that I have no bungs in the header and they are all in the y-pipe, but I do know I have a bung in the y-pipe with no O2 sensor.

If you have the old style dynatech with the hump on the left header then you do have an extra bung that its plugged right at the beginning of the cat.
Edit--on a sencond thought I think the extra bung is at the end of the cat, I gotta look at mine to confirm!!!

I think I have my O2 sensor in the rear of the cat, and the one towards the front is plugged. So are you saying that you have a WB A/F bung in the rear of the cat? I was just wondering if I could plug the wideband into the front of the cat where it is plugged and call it a day, that way I wouldn't have to wire the pcm for the narrowband. Thanks for all the help.

In my setup, don't know if its old or new dynatech. 2-3 years old. There are no bungs in the header itself. Directly after the header the cats bolt on. There is a bung in the front of the cat and a bung in the rear of the cat. My front o2's are in the front bungs of the cat. The passenger side is a conventional narrowband o2. The drivers side is a WB and emulate the narrow band with it. The bungs at the rear of the cat are plugged off. Further down in the y pipe from the cats are bungs in both sides that I have the rear o2's in.

If I were to place the wideband into one of those plugged bungs in the cat how bad would that throw off my reading or would it even be bad enough to notice? I'm really going to have to check when I get home Friday, I think I'm going to have to post a pic so I can get someone to point out the perfect spot.

I have the older DT's with the hump on drivers side. The cats supplied by DT only have one bung ahead of and aft of the cats. I installed my wideband bung into the header collector. All the knowledgeable/experienced people I spoke with advised installing the wideband ahead of the cat for greater accuracy. The rear O2's can be removed and sims put in or just deleted from your PCM. The front ones need to be left in place to monitor engine fueling .
