Duramax stock exhaust on 1500 truck?
#1
Has anyone tried it out yet?
I installed a stock Duramax system on my 04 today and it actually sounds good and fits great. All of the hangers are in the same location as my stock exhaust.
I went from a crimped 2.75 exhaust to a mandrel 3.5 for $25.
Im going to try and redyno it this next week before the converter goes in.
I didnt care much if it killed the lowend power of the 4.8 a 3k Yank should fix it.
If you want to see pictures of it I will have to take them tomorrow.
You can see in one of the rear pictures that I had to drop the hanger on the tailpipe down on the rubber mount.
I will post a idle sound clip soon.

how about a sound clip. i have been wondering about this for ever on the bigger motors... the 6.0 and 8.1 dont have a lot of choices... then when you do find one its 3" for like $600+ where as you can get 4-5-6 inche diesel stuff for about the same money.

oo, oo, mee too. right now, I have, as you can see in the sig, just cats, no muffler, sub muffler, that dumps in front of the tire. it resonates, alot. a diesel exhaust, if it bolts right up would be great.
Right now, I am considering the resonator tipped catback from LMC truck, or a Summit special with a borla universal.
