Default Duramax injectors?

I'm a tech at a GM dealer and all I work on is Duramax's. Anybody else work on these things? and do you like working on them? Lately all I have been doing is injectors in these f@#king LB7's and some LLY's. GM has bullitin out for these things for improper balance rates.

We really only have the Duramax's come in for regular service. Guess were just lucky!! I do know our parts man looked up an injector the other day and there was like 23,000 on back order!

My buddy has gone througt like at least 15 of them on his truck. Finally the last time he went in they replaced all 8 of them. I guess they have problems with the o-rings blowing out too. They told him to run fuel additive. He is using Lucas Diesel treatment and hasn't had any problems yet. Now GM has a 200,000 mile warrenty on them. But I have heard a bunch of other Duramax's with the same problem. But I still wouldn't buy any other diesel.

"Most" of the problems with them are from people not changing there fuel filter enought. These injectors get gummed up real easy and then the ecm will see that a certain cylinder is not getting fuel, so the ecm will increase fuel pressure to that cylinder. balance rates will get all fawked up, engine light, miss at idle and so on.

We do injectors ALL the time 2+ vehicles a week.
Did a ATS allison upgrade $4,000 kit easy to install Took 1 full day.
Added 75 shot nitrous to same one.
Installed several "Juice with attitude" programmers and a coupl of Vanaaken programmers.

Other than that pretty much trouble free...

I have a 2K2 model Duramax. Been down three times with injector problems. My last Duramax.

Too bad the PSDs don't get better mileage.

Too bad Cummins is in a Dodge.

Too bad the General has no ***** to fix a known problem....
