Some people have better luck then others. Both of my LB7's were ran on the 100hp Predator tune and then the 120hp tune when it came out. I had no problems, and no limps. Not saying people dont have problems, because I know they do. Just stating my experience with the product.

No Problem BMDMAX. I have had my 03 over the 90hp setting for 2 years and not one problem and I will tell you I have beat on it. Tried the edge juice stacked with an Hypertech on stage 3 and never a slip and then switched to the Predator on stage 4 120hp and still no slip...It will blow the tires away though.

Every trans is a bit different. You were running it on an LB7 and had more room to grow. I ran a 125 Juice on my LB7 with the stock trans and no trouble too.

The LLY is less forgiving because it is already rated higher from the factory. The LLY trucks won't hold the 100 HP tune for long. I am just speaking from experience owning and driving both. Check out dieselplace.com for more info and others experiences with modding the LLY trucks.

That seams to be the case on paper, but I'll tell you what, I'll take my LB7's back any day of the week. My LLy seams like a dog by comparison. The numbers will tell the truth. Im going to strap her on the dyno tomorrow and see what she's making. I am a big fan of the Diesel place and Diesel Page. I read them all. They are both good and bad. You have such a huge amount of people in one place. 10 guys have tranny problems and it sounds like alot. Even if there were 1000 people on there with tranny problem posts, it still is not alot considering the amount of Duramax trucks out there. Things just get blown out of proportion, everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Mod for mod the LB7 is far stronger than the LLY. The cat, EGR and VVT to meet emissions really make the LLY feel different than the LB7. I much prefer driving my LB7 and let the wife drive the LLY. Stock though, an LLY does make more power than the LB7.

You have very few problems with the unmodded trucks. The Allison in stock form is damn near bulletproof. I am not trying to scare anyone or blow things out of proportion. Check this thread on how well the LLY and Allison does with the 100 HP tune:

Bottom line is if you play you are gonna pay.
