Default Dumping exhaust questions

First I have my exhaust dumped right after the axle. Its not loud at all, if I cut off before the axle will it become any louder/ better sound? Second, will I loose any back pressure doing that?

I wouldn't think there would be much of a difference either way. Might hear it a bit more since its nearer to the cab, but I dont think backpressure would be affected much if any if youre just shortening the pipe. Might just end up needing a louder muffler(s)
