Default dual cut outs

My bro has a sc 4.8 w/ longtubes, true dual w/ no cats and was wanting to install dual cut outs before the mufflers. Does anyone have this setup and did it help performance ? thanks

im o you wont really get any performance, and maybe in his case may lose some bottom end because of such low backpressure. Cutouts are more for a coolness factor. It also depends on the application though!

I have lt's to cutouts...then dual 2.5" into x pipe then into two flowmasters. Cutouts might help on the top end a little bit....I hope to find out tommorow exactly...goin to the track.

Guys it's an SC 4.8 with LT's. He's obviously tuned. No worries with the "backpressure" BS.

That being said the cutouts are completely for loudness, not for performance in this case, LT's and an ORY flow well enough that you could run the stock muffler and still only loose about 7hp.

What's he running, flowmasters? If he's running bullets, 1 chambers, or ultra flows, cutouts won't be worth it. Sound or power wise.

However, two cutouts directly after the headers would be the ****.
