Default Dropped 4wd, exhaust?

I'm waiting on my Pacesetter longtubes and ORY to come, but also wonderng about dropping my 4wd more. I've got the lift blocks removed and the keys decranked a bit, but I've got drop shackles and 2500 keys I wanna install too. That'll be about 4 inches lower than a stock 4wd, so am I gonna have room to get the pipe over the axle? I don't wanna dump it that bad.

Well I have shackles and hangars in the rear for a 4" rear drop. My axle does tap the exhaust (2 1/2" duals), Not bend but I can see the marks where it tapped.

They're indexed differently so the truck sits lower. Same effect as decranking I've concluded..........

+1 dropping the torsions that much would make for a crappy ride. You'd be buried on the stops even if you cut them down.

2500 keys are the purple ones, and they are indexed less than the greens keys so putting them in place of the green 1500 keys will lower the truck.

My truck is set up the way you are asking about. The axle never hits the exhaust. Just be sure the truck is already lowered when you take it to the exhaust shop, and make it a point to them that you are concerned with the axle hitting the pipes. There is ample room to route the pipes if he has any experience. And as far as ride quality, once you are that low, cut the front bump stops down to 3/4 of the first bulge, relocate the rear bump stop to the frame(remove bracket, very simple), cut that bump stop to one bulge, and then install KYB Monomax shocks using the part numbers for 2003 SS Silverado. The ride quality of my truck is same as stock, when running 20's or 22's.

100% correct. GM also used these same keys in the SS, C3 and Sierra Denali's to obtain a slightly lower stance from the factory. You know I don't recall any of them having ill effects as far as ride is concerned either. The SS and later model Denali trucks had a different part number for the snubbers than the regular 4WD's and earlier model C3 and Sierra Denali's. Surprisingly the snubbers are basically the same height, but are made out of a higher durometer material (stiffer) for better handling.
