Driving habits with a cam?
#1
Just got 215/220 cam install with dual springs. Someone said something about letting the truck warmup before getting on it because the springs need to be warm or they will break.
So do I need to let it sit there for 5 minutes every morning or can I just go easy on it?

That's one thing I really like about the LS6 springs, they're not brittle so I can just crank it up and go...even though I usually let it warm up a bit on really cold mornings since my bones are brittle lol. When I had the Comp 915's I was concerned about cold operation.

high performance springs are prone to breaking when cold. let some heat build up in them before high rpm. i usually let my truck get up to temp. before driving. should let the oil warm up before romping on it anyways.

IMHO, by the time water temperature hits 130+ you're good to go.
It's just common sense, drive the truck around a little bit before you go romping on it. You don't need to let it get all the way up to 170+ before you put it in gear just a slight warm up is all you'll need. And during the summer it will be even less of an issue.
