Does this look like a lq9?

Yep, me too. Found the listing the $800, texted guy and his first reply was "yep still got it $650 and it's yours" asked him for pics and he sent those two, heads alerted me so I asked him if they were iron or alum and he told me alum 317's. Still didn't look right to me so that's why I posted it. The heads don't bother me but I don't want that longer crank snout.

The one posted first is definitely Iron heads with the long crank. 99-00
The one shown in the Ebay listing Is 2005 or newer. It has the LS2 Style lifter trays and the LS2 Style rods.
HTH!!!

I figured that I could just get Chris to make me a custom 60e converter with a 80e front but I'd also like to have it so that if I blow the trans I can put my stock one back in to run while I get the other rebuilt, couldn't do that if the stock 60e converter doesn't fit.. but I may look into the motor still.

The heads look like they’re iron in the pictures which would be from a ’99 / ’00 LQ4 and the crankshaft is sticking out way past the rear seal and would be close to flush if it were a ’01 and up model. Of course if it had the spacer it would look basically the same in regards to distance protruding past the seal, but you would see a parting line and regardless of whether it was actually the long crank or had the spacer, from the factory it would still make it an LQ4, as the LQ9’s came with the 4L65E behind them and all had the short style crank to mate up with it. Another tid-bit, the iron heads would not be 317 castings and would instead be 873 castings.
The LQ9 was most definitely installed in trucks as well as the SUV’s. It was originally introduced for the 2002 Cadillac Escalade, but was released in the 2003 SS Silverado and made into the Sierra Denali lineup in 2005. Of course the VHO and Vortec Max GMT-800 trucks were also blessed with the LQ9 as well.
