does a 1999 GMC Suburban have a LS1 style engine?

My sister has a 1999 GMC Suburban. how can i know if it has the LS1 style engine in it? by the vin? or looking at the engine?

No,the LS1 style motors didn't go in the Suburban until the 2000 model.It's most likely a Vortec 350.
