Default It's time for headers...

I know that the general concensus around here is that the tried-and-true AS+M headers are the e-ticket, but I've really been curious as to any real-world testing of other designs.

Does anyone have any legitimate reasoning to pay $900-1300 for the Dynatech's? What about the "optimum length" Bassanis? Thorleys?

I know that this seems to have been beat to death, but I really haven't seen any "proof" of any header's merit other than the TOG/AS+M's. I'm really leaning towards the Dynatech's since they're stainless, but that's the only real advantage that I can see right now.

Can anyone give me some idea of what I should be looking for in a header, and if the Dynatech's are truly worth the premium price for which they are selling?

these headers arent available yet for the silverado engines. they have them for LS1 and LT1 motors. but check out their other headers, and look at the testomonials... i'll be getting em' when they come out.... dont you have an LS1 in there now?

Yeah, but I still need the truck headers for frame clearance.

Tri-wye headers have been around for years the Thorley headers are a tri-wye design, they generally give better low and midrange performance at the expense of topend power. The factory headers on my 1965 Lotus were tri-wyes and were switched for 4-tube headers when I added a ported head and high lift cams.

i'd just stick to as&m or dynatech, dont go any cheaper with that 5.7, it wont be worth it..

I bougth the ASM'S from the gp last March. Not worth the money. What made it worse is that my factory O2S did not come out. Had to spend 140$ on a set of universals. They worked for a few days till my CEL came on. Spent 115$ each for the AC Delcos and the problem went away. So make sure that they come out before you start your project.
