Default do pacesetters get better mileage?

my mom asked me if there was anything that i could do to my truck, without taking off current things, that could net me better gas mileage. now i know spending 500$ on somehting like that would take years to save me enough money to be worth it but it mightg be a good way to get free headers courtesy of mom! has ANYONE seen better mpg with LT's?

i don't know the answer. i just know my mileage is very acceptable on my truck with everything that i have. so possibly they could. eitherway, don't tell her yes just to get some headers. that would be doing your mom wrong. lol.

If you think about how LT's are designed and what they are designed for, it seems rational that they WOULDN'T hurt gas mileage (assuming you keep your foot out of it). You might get a minimal gain, but either way, get yourself some free headers!

ha ha im sorry goshawk, but im gonna have to go with thiems on this one, maybe ill offer to pay for half or something so i dont feel too bad...here coming in the soon future ill be spending most of my time on the highway anyways. one thing about theory of slightbetter mpg is, i have been reading that people a richening affect after installing LT's, maybe this is before they retune, but regardless, that seems it may actually decrease mileage. hopeefully ill get some "discounted" headers but it looks like a pulley might be on the way

I consider my drive every day are city miles and not highway miles I stop and go @ 15 mile intervals( about 12 miles of it is on the interstate) @ about 65mph on ave. and my fuel milage before LT's was 14.5mpg and 17mpg now with no tune and I trained myself to have a lighter foot. I only get on it when I need to.
