Do Ebay air intake systems work OK? I'm talking about the no name brand, dime a dozen 6.0L intake systems, usually chrome piping with colored joints. Will the filters last at all or are they crap. I had one on an acura and it worked great as far as adding a little power and gas milage but as far as longevity I never got the chance to see.

I bought the MIT pipe from Airaid and just bought one of the little 30 dollar filter and heat sheild kits from ebay... 30K miles later.. no probs and I clean out the filter every month or so.

This filter is considered Airaid as well.. idk how much truth there is to that, but thats what it said. Its all about to change tho, with the new electric fans, there is no need for the "pancake" MIT tube from airaid... so as soon as i contruct my own tube i'll be selling it, if you want the tube just shoot me a pm

Same setup for me except I ditched the eBay filter and bought a K&N conical filter that was a little larger. I have posted dyno results on this setup. I'll see if I can find the thread.

I drilled some holes in the bottom of the ebay heat sheild and theres a lot more air flowing now... you should trying doing that.. also.. i drilled some holes through the wheel well too.. you cant see if unless you took the tire off and looked, so its not noticeable, but i figured that i could get some air from the wheel well too... so i wonder what the result of that it.. probably not much... doesnt really matter.. bc i take the headlight out like everyone else when im in race format.

Same here, although track times don't really show any improvement. A direct route for air to the filter has got to be beneficial.
