Do 5.3L engines have roller rockers?
I was looking in a Chevy manule (sp?)and it did not look like it. But for some teardown pics they used different engines (i don't know why they didn't just snap a shot of the 5.3 as they were tearing it down, so im kind of confused. Has anyone who has done a teardown or just taken off their valve covers seen if the 5.3L do have roller rockers? (They are 1.6's right?)

YES and NO.
The factory rocker arms have a roller fulcrum but no roller tip. They are cast and not stamped like earlier GM motors. They do not have guide plates or have self aligning tips. And yes they are 1.7:1 ratio. Pretty damn good set-up for an OEM.
