I noticed a 10hp increase in HP on the 4.8 and 5.3 model silverados from 2004 to 2005. While looking on ebay I noticed past 4.8s and 5.3 had crank driven fans instead of elec fan. Is this the 10hp? Can anyone verify my findings?

Also, if anyone is looking to sell a 4.8 or 5.3, let me know. I might be interested.

 

Actually the 04' model was bumped up 10hp. I think it was becuase of some higher flowing cats. The 05s with the e-fans have more power but they are rated the same as the 04s.

 

Those 10+ ponies in the 04's is just a marketing strategy. I don't find the 04 or 05 any faster than the 03's.
