And as far as the vette having a straiter intake tube than the truck making it ok to run with no screen is BS also. The shape of the intake tube has NO affect of how the MAF reads because the MAF is BEFORE the tube. It measures the air before it ever enters the tube.

Man you beat me to it!

My opinion I wouldnt do it again. But I dont think it makes all of a difference.

I have descreened EVERY one of the vehicles i've ever had with a MAF and did notice a slight increase in how they rev.

IMO descreening is a good free mod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your truck or car messed up when you did it you MUST have touched or broke one of the electrodes. YO BAD!!!!
Made mine lean. Unless ATAP is fucked up on my laptop. No I did not stab the electrodes. But it did begin to run worse and worse over time. Stole a MAF from a friend to replace my MAF and wow. All was well again. 2 each their own man. If you wanna take the screen out, go ahead. Wasnt worth it in my book.

And know this: when the truck starts running lean, the PCM drops line pressure in the autotrans.
