You need to find out what dtc's are stored in the SDM.It had to set codes unless they are unable to communicate with the SDM.

the tech will only tell her it says "low impedence driver and passenger airbags" that its 2 "modules" that need to be replaced. is there sensors or something that need replacing at a certain point? if so whats up with him charging so much.

Ok you need to go there and look at the repair order and see what codes the system set. They should be able to tell you that. They need to give you more info than what they are telling you.

Lets not all start bashing the dealers now.Lets get the facts first, air bag parts are expensive. This is why people steal them.

Not all sender cards are available seperatly and not all techs know which ones are/are not serviceable. As reliable as these pump assemblies are, its almost better to do it all at once anyway.

As for the airbags, its unlikely that both went bad at the same time. Get a second opinion and don't tell the second shop about the previous shop. Let them come to there own conclusion first.

RUINED, This is what Ive found with alot of airbag lights. Sometimes the SDM modules will get a bad connection at the plugs.Usually you can unplug, bend the terminals out a bit and plug it back in. Usually this will fix the problem 90% of the time. If the dealer isnt giving the actual DTC numbers then something is TOO shady.

I agree. I dont like when people wont divulge specifics. When I am asked a question pertaining to something I am well versed in, I will give a layman's explanation first. If I am questioned further or with any sort of skepticism than I go into detailed specifics. **** I spent alot of money acquiring all this useless info relating to biochem and pharmaceuticals.

Used - 100 a PCM - IF that is the real problem
Good advise above - get the codes - will tell what is really going on
I have used many used PCM - they are a light switch
They either work or they dont work.
Check any good used part vendor
You would wont PCM's from an unblown vehicle or a flood veh
