my 02 burban has 69,000 on it. awhile ago the airbag light came on and stayed on. i thought it was a service light but holy crap. the dealership is saying there is two modules that need to be replaced at a grand per. and that my airbags wont work until i do.

is this true? over 2 grand for this? my bung hole already hurts.

For two grand I would have to do without airbags. However I would get a second/third opinion before you grab your ankles

There is no way I'd pay for that. I don't see how two seperate things can just go bad, without something else going seriosly wrong. (shorting + and - or something)

 

I think the dealership is screwing you big time. 2 grand is like a 10th of what your car is probably worth anyway. I wouldn't pay money to have my airbags work. Just wear a seat belt. Definitely get a second and third opinion on this.

 

well i'm thinking like you all. thats crazy talk. its actually my sisters suburban and she lives in fremont ca. so maybe somebody can help her out. she said the dealership cleared a "code" (maybe) he called "low impeadence"(what) and the airbag light came back on again. also the tech is not totally certain whats wrong. i hate the pic a part and see if it fixes bullshit. she really wants her airbags to work and the cluster light off....i know, i know. thanks

 

this is why people steal airbags and componants from cars. Happened to me a couple years back

 

First off what code is the sir system setting?Which air bags?Side air bags in the seat?Give me some more info i am a Chevy tech.
