Default Damper, aka Harmonic Balancer........

Hey guys- noticed for awhile now that when approaching 3.5k and above I run into what I perceive as ringing from the crankshaft and probably other places too. I've gathered a few points here and there that #1 the factory elastomeric damper frays and wears out and is also 'tuned' for a quite narrow range. So my question to everyone in the know- is an aftermarket damper worth considering? BTW I just turned 150k and the truck is 12 years old..............
TIA

It's just a pulley. These engines are internally balanced. Resonance with your exhaust sounds more likely.

What would I look at to address exhaust resonance?

Mufflers, pipe diameter, pipe length, etc. That droning sound you hear is resonance.

It's not drone, it's more like a roughness which is why I believe I can't wind it out like the Denali........

Any difference in motor mounts between the two? Solid motor mounts would transfer more of that roughness you're feeling.

Thats different than a ringing sound. Roughness is probably a misfire for some reason.

Each are stock, I'm starting to conclude the difference in sound damping material between a 2006 Truck and a 2013 Denali...........
