Beef Tip, do you have a custom tune? You can have the rear 02's turned off. The rear cats are nothing more to monitor the performance of the cats. I had my cutouts in place of my cats right off the headers, but at the time didn't have simms or a custom tune.

The only tune that i have is the handheld superchips tuner so thats not really an option for me, Cammin03 does have a custom tune though. Ill probably just get the 02 simms if i decide to do the cutouts, I really dont want to throw to much cash into Ole Green. When i had my 97 z28, I had the o2 simms put on when i took my cats off after my header/cam install, and a few weeks later i had the cats turned off. Thats probably why i got confused.

Im sorry I gotta jump in here, there isnt enough room to put cutouts before the cats you would have to put them before the first 02 which doesnt make any sense. If I were you I would just take the cats off along with the second 02 sensor (it is useless only returns a random voltage to make shore the first one is working) then delete the 2nd 02 in your tune. If your gonna run a ypipe put one cutout directly after the y, you arent going to see a difference by getting it any closer to the heads. do not put a cutout directly after the 02 sensors your asking for problems!!

I actually havent crawled up under there and looked to see what kind of room im working with anyway. As far as the tune, im not really looking to spend that much money from a custom tuner on this 97 w/144k on it. If this had an ls base engine i would mess with it more but im not going to throw any big cash in this 350 vortec. I think its slightly different exhaust setup than the 99+ but ill look tomorrow.
