Default Custom spec cam, need more compression

I am working on gathering parts for a cam swap for my lq4. Here are the cam specs 227/230, .585/.592/108. I would like to be around 10.5:1 compression. Im wondering which would be the best way to get to my desired compression. Either mill my stock 317s or get a set of 243/799s?

You can mill the 317s.

You can mill the 317's to get there but I would probably go for the 243's. They tend to outflow the 317 at higher lift because of the chamber design. Not a huge difference... but it is a difference.

Step up to 243/799 then you can always send them in later for a port job, never have to worry about ptv clearance as long as you don't have a donkey dick cam.

As long as I know I won't have Ptv problems I will stick with the milled 317s for now until my budget allows for some aftermarket heads. I know it's best to check Ptv before I put everything together but this truck being my dd I'd be in trouble if I ran into Ptv issues and couldn't get it on the road the same day.
