Default Custom Intake...

Finally got around to taking some pics and video of it. I got everything but the filter at the Performance Depot.

do you plan on changing the piece that connects to the TB? that is actually the most restrictive part of the stock intake.

after looking at it closer that piece looks different than the stock one... is that a new part too? if so, I wonder why it still has that dish that sits above the fan shroud and chokes out the tube at the TB

I did something similar, but used 3.5" mandrel bends from EBay. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=361306

As far as the black plastic piece being the most restrictive part of the stock intake, I sure hope you're right, 'cause this thing sure does like what I've done so far!!!

yep, that is still the stock resonator. I need to take it off and replace it with something. I was thinking the Airaid MIT or a conduit box jury rigged and painted wrinkle black.

I've seen 3"-5" aluminum ducting used before if you are trying to save $$, probaly keep the air cooler too...

I wouldn't use aluminum on intake tubing if you can avoid it. It will transfer heat from your engine compartment more easily into your incoming air, might cost you a few ponies. However some polished tubing would sure look cool.
