I was actually probably just going to have the exhaust exiting right out of the muffler. I prefer to have a hidden exhaust.

Guys...do yourselves a favor and READ THIS ARTICLE. It will help keep you from rebuilding your exhaust system over and over.

ive run a cut out between my Y-pipe and my Stock muffler... and i have been considering putting two cutouts at the headers and then through the Y and to the stock muffler.. any one running this set up??? and know how it would sound?? i know it would be loud.. thats what im going for.. but would i see any gain???? or loss????

I had this exact same set up on my 6.0L 98 SS. I gained something like 25-30 rwhp when i uncapped it. but i had a pretty big cam. Capped it was supper quiet. I also had a bullet before each cut out and then the stock cat back. So when it was capped it actually went through three mufflers.

damn, am i missing something? that's pretty impressive! i run cutouts too but don't notice much more than 1 or 2 mph in the 1/4. never put it on a dyno.

I usually gain .1-.2 in the 1/8th with my cutout open vs. closed...

oh, and it usually gains excessive tire spin and stinky smells when i open it on the street .
